Foursquare has been getting a lot of well-deserved attention in press and internet recently, both for its impressive user growth, and for the roughly $20 million it raised from venture capital firms in order to expand the business. Foursquare has more than 2 million users, and it’s adding more than 100,000 new users a week — a faster growth rate than Twitter had at the same point in its lifecycle.

The other day I came upon an article that talked about hacking. As you may know hacking is going on all the time. Every one who host websites knows that there is constantly somebody trying to get into the hosting environment to plant some programs or deface websites. Even the biggest hosting centers are not immune. If you are a large hosting center than the better hackers will try to crack your defenses.

Then I came across this article from “The Economist” which was reprinted in the Winnipeg Free Press. I thought it was very clever to set a trap for every hacker to try to get to a document which when accessed could even provide a financial reward. What I liked was that it allows InZero to actually track everything about the attack. And there is quite a bit you can learn from it.

I have finally come around to get rid of my old blog and start writing a new one.
